Two Years ago today my life was changed forever when I first saw a picture of a beautiful baby girl by the name of Xiu Fu Lai she was located in the providence of Chongqing and was 7 months old! (My lucky number and a true sign.) She was everything I had ever dreamed of and so much more. To think that 2 years ago we were all just thrilled and I never thought that she would be this smart, beautiful, or so lovable. She is my dream come true. I am head over heels in love with this little girl and I never ever in a million years would have thought I would be in love with her so much! The saying 'Love at first sight' is so very true and I think ANYONE in the adoption community would know that. Xiu Fu Lai or Lai Lai or Anna Grace is my greatest joy in life and I am constantly thanking God for the miracle that she is. If you would like to read my Mom's journal about this special day two years ago it is posted below.
Day of the call:
When the kids got home from school, I let them read about Anna Grace. I had our webpage pulled up and Ashton read the info. They were so excited. Ashton has been drawing ladybugs for months with 7 spots. She was convinced that Anna Grace was going to be seven months old. She is holding a picture that she drew for Anna Grace. It was a ladybug with 7 spots explaining to her that she was only 7 months old. She was thrilled today to learn that she was right. Her little Mei Mei is 7 months old and waiting for her! We are thrilled to announce that we now have a daughter. Xiu Fu Lai was born on September 11, 2006. She is residing in the XiuShan Social Welfare in Chongqing. On Feb. 1st she weighed 13.2 pounds! We are told she has a head full of hair that it sticking up all over! We are so excited! We will get a picture tomorrow. We are so blessed! Thank you for all of your prayers!
Day we got the picture:
UPS delivered our baby at 10:15 this morning. Stork Chad was shocked to know he was delivering but he was a great sport! I can't put into words the pure joy of seeing my babies face for the 1st time. It was so much better than I ever imagined. Unbelievable-Amazing-Breathtaking! I am even more in love. In the 2nd picture we rec'd, she is holding a bear and it has the initial "A" on it. How neat is that? She looks so tiny and petite. Her lips are perfect and precious! I know that is the mommy talking but I think she is the most precious, beautiful thing I have ever seen! I don't know how we will endure the wait to go get her!
Time Flies and before I know it she will be going to Kindergarten and then Middle School and then graduating from High School. These are the days that I am going to miss so much. This day has made me realize how much I love her and how fast my time with this baby is going to go by. She is almost 3! 3! I am just blown away! I seriously have to start living life to its fullest and enjoying her while she is still here with me and wants to be with me.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend!
